Aceon Plus (Perindopril / Indapamide)

Perindopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, works by relaxing your blood vessels, enabling easier blood flow.
Indapamide, a diuretic (water pill), works by making you urinate to help your body get rid of extra salt and water.

Directions
Aceon Plus should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. Any questions or concerns should be referred to your doctor or pharmacist.

Aceon Plus is typically taken by mouth once daily. Because Aceon Plus causes patients to urinate, patients are recommended to take the medication in the morning.

Ingredients
Perindopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, and indapamide, a diuretic (water pill), are the active ingredients in Aceon Plus.

Contraindications
You should avoid taking Aceon Plus if you are allergic to other ACE inhibitors, thiazide diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide, or to any of the other ingredients contained in Aceon Plus.

Tell your doctor if you have ever had swelling or an allergic reaction after taking an ACE inhibitor or a thiazide diuretic.

Cautions:
Before you begin treatment with Aceon Plus, be sure to discuss the following with your doctor:

• All the prescription and over-the-counter medications you take
• Your allergies
• Your medical history and current health problems
• Your pregnancy or breastfeeding status
• Aceon Plus can make you feel dizzy. Dizziness can be amplified with alcohol or marijuana. Do not drive or participate in any other activities that require mental alertness until you know how the medication affects you.
• Tell your doctor or dentist about all the medications you take, including Aceon Plus, before you have surgery.
• Dehydration can occur with Aceon Plus. The risk is increased with excessive sweating, diarrhea, or vomiting. Be sure you inform your doctor if any of these effects occur.
• Aceon Plus can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Be sure to wear appropriate sunscreen and protective clothing when going outside.
• Aceon Plus can cause elevated potassium levels in the blood.
• Aceon Plus can increase blood sugar levels in diabetic patients.
• The side effects of Aceon Plus may affect older adults more, especially if they have kidney problems or dizziness.
• Aceon Plus can cause harm to an unborn baby. Patients are recommended to use effective birth control methods while being treated with this medication.

Side Effects

• Tiredness, headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, or dry cough can occur with Aceon Plus medication. Other side effects may also occur. Tell your doctor right away if you have bothersome or persistent side effects.
