Nootropil (piracetam) is used with other medications to treat myoclonus, a nervous system condition that causes involuntary muscle twitching.

Nootropil medicine is available in an 800 mg oral tablet.

Directions
Take Nootropil exactly as your doctor has prescribed you. Discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended starting dose is to take 9 tablets (7,200 mg) daily. Patients generally take 3 tablets in the morning, 3 tablets at noon, and 3 tablets in the evening. Take the tablets with a full glass of water. Swallow the tablets whole. Avoid crushing, chewing, or breaking them.

Ingredients
The active ingredient in each Nootropil tablet is piracetam. Piracetam works in the brain and nervous system. Experts believe it protects against oxygen shortage.

Inactive ingredients include macrogol 6000, macrogol 400, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), sunset yellow (E110), and talc.

Contraindications
Do not take Nootropil if you have any of the following:

An allergy to Nootropil or to any of its other ingredients
Serious kidney problems
Huntington’s Disease
A brain hemorrhage or have ever had a brain hemorrhage
